The Werchek Way
In 1979, Mike Werchek laid the foundation for Werchek Development, originally based in the northern suburbs of Chicago. Hailing from Libertyville and recognizing the growth potential, Mike initially focused on building homes and engaging in land development in the area. Witnessing the community's expansion, he transitioned from constructing homes on small lots to spearheading the development of his own subdivisions.
Assuming command of each project empowered Mike to intricately plan and design each venture, shaping lots to align with his unique vision. Despite the elevated development costs, customers consistently enjoyed an elevated standard of living, resulting in enduring satisfaction. Presently, Mike's projects stand as the epitome of excellence in Libertyville, where his visionary approach continues to drive swift sell-outs for each endeavor.
In 1984, faced with the challenge of finding suitable office space for expanding the company, Mike took matters into his own hands and constructed his inaugural office complex. Opting for four buildings instead of a single large structure, he prioritized a more personal and intimate setting. The facades were meticulously designed with a residential look to ensure a welcoming atmosphere, steering away from the typical commercial aesthetic.
The first complex quickly sold out within weeks of its launch, prompting Mike to develop two more complexes in Libertyville and one in Buffalo Grove. Mike played a hands-on role in the design of both the buildings and the site plan, infusing his vision into every aspect. The interiors catered to diverse needs, accommodating general offices, medical and dental practices, outpatient surgical centers, and even featuring one of the town's pioneering MRI facilities.
With a deep-rooted connection to the town where he grew up, worked, and raised his family, Mike Werchek actively pursued enhancing the community by contributing amenities. When approached to assist with a soccer complex, he eagerly jumped in, dedicating five years to weekly meetings and fundraising efforts to bring the plan to fruition. Leveraging the contractors he worked with in town, many generously donated their services, allowing the project to become a reality. Werchek Development contributed by donating the equipment shed, concession stands, and pavilions for the complex.
During his time in Libertyville, Werchek Development left an indelible mark, constructing and selling over 350 custom homes, developing 160,000 sq/ft of office space, and creating over 400 vacant lots.
In 2013, Mike transitioned his company to Naples, Florida, where he began building homes in prestigious areas such as Port Royal and Aqualane. Fast forward to 2023, and Mike expanded his ventures by opening Divine Interiors of Naples, a high-end furniture store in the Galleria of Naples. Now, venturing into real estate, Mike is resolute in his commitment to assist individuals in buying and selling properties valued at over seven figures.
